Stickam.com presents live coverage of Tubefilter’s Going Pro: Seducing The Studios
Join us tonight for Stickam’s exclusive live coverage of “Going Pro: Seducing the Studios,” presented by Tubefilter and featuring panelists from Big Fantastic, Sony Pictures Television, and Crackle’s upcoming action series, The Bannen Way.
Many producers dream of scoring a studio deal. With financing, marketing, and distribution all taken care of, can’t you finally just focus on creating something great? But what’s it really like when a studio gets involved? At December’s Hollywood Web Television Meetup we’re exploring these questions and more.
Web television powerhouse Big Fantastic first caught the eye of former Disney Chariman Michael Eisner’s web production studio Vuguru with their debut independent series Sam Has 7 Friends, the first daily scripted dramatic web series. Together Big Fantastic and Vuguru created Prom Queen, which drew over 20 Million views during its initial run, and has since spawned two sequels and a Japanese remake.
Last year Sorority Forever received multiple Streamy Award nominations, including Best Director for the four-man team consisting of Douglas Cheney, Chris Hampel, Chris McCaleb, and Ryan Wise. Big Fantastic has grown to become a household name in web tv, producing and directing series for studios like Warner Bros., McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision, 60 Frames, and Generate. They’ve just recently completed their latest series, Prom Queen: The Homecoming, scheduled for release after the new year.
In Summer 2008 Mark Gantt and Jesse Warren shot and released a short, sexy and slick trailer for a high-concept indie action web series that hadn’t yet been produced. Hollywood took notice, and after getting signed by International Creative Management they landed a 13-episode deal with Sony Pictures Television to produce The Bannen Way for Crackle.com, debuting early 2010.
Find out from these creators just what it takes to go pro and what it’s like directing, producing and starring in a studio-backed web series. With exclusive, never-before-seen footage of The Bannen Way!

Stickam.com Launches the First White Label Live Video Streaming Solution for iPhone App Developers
New Stickam.com iPhone SDK allows live streaming integration for apps in the iTunes store; partners with 211me to add video streaming to celebrity apps, beginning with Twilight’s Peter Facinelli
LOS ANGELES – November 17, 2009 – Stickam.com, the pioneer of live streaming video and the largest live community on the Internet, today introduced its iPhone SDK for third-party integration of live video streaming into iPhone apps.
The iPhone SDK is based on Stickam.com’s StreamAPI platform, providing an easy-to-implement white label solution that allows developers to integrate live video streaming into any business, entertainment or educational iPhone app. The SDK utilizes Apple QuickTime’s H.264 HTTP live streaming functionality, with the addition of Stickam.com’s live chat integration so users can interact with each other from within the app directly and seamlessly.
211me, creator of iPhone applications and social media solutions for celebrities, media companies and product manufacturers, has utilized Stickam.com’s iPhone SDK to power its celebrity apps, beginning with an app for Twilight star, Peter Facinelli.
“We’re excited to add live video from Stickam to all our celebrity iPhone apps, starting with Peter’s and extending to all of our clients including Billy Burke, Jennie Garth, Danneel Harris, Lucas Till, Tia Carrere, Neal McDonough, Eric Christian Olsen, Steve Carlson, Bailee Madison and Stephen Colletti,” said Rob DeFranco, CEO of 211me. “There’s no doubt that fans are looking for immediate and intimate access to stars, which means delivering content to mobile phones is key. Peter has been at the forefront of connecting directly with his fans through social media, and his iPhone app brings fans even closer to him through exclusive photos, videos, updates, direct chats and, now, live streaming.”
Facinelli, better known as Dr. Carlisle Cullen to fans of the Twilight series, is gearing up for the premiere of “New Moon” on Nov. 20 with appearances on Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, Jimmy Fallon and many others. While he’s on location during filming and on the road promoting the movie, Facinelli connects with fans through social networking, providing behind-the-scenes access.
StreamAPI is a fully customizable and scalable white label solution that enables companies to easily and cost-effectively add live video streaming capabilities to their Web sites and online applications. With no monthly fees or up-front development costs, pricing is a predictable flat rate of 45 cents per gigabyte. With StreamAPI’s analytics tools, application developers can track bandwidth usage, traffic sources and number of visitors, broken down by time period for each live session.
“Today’s availability of the Stickam iPhone SDK, along with our recent launch of the StreamAPI application for Facebook, illustrates how we constantly strive to help entertainers and media providers deliver the live content users want, wherever they’re located,” said Steven Fruchter, CEO of Stickam.com. “We’re pleased to help iPhone app developers add live streaming and connect directly with their users by providing the back-end technology.”
For developers building a Web application instead of an iPhone app, Stickam.com has also allowed the ability to stream directly to a Safari browser on an iPhone and iPod Touch via a Web address.
